4th of July up North

We left early last Wednesday and drove to Tulalip Shores, near Marysville, Washington. We spent two night with Brett's parents and Uncle Rod and Aunt Kathy. Abigail and Norah had a great time with their cousins, Haley and Lee Iver. Both evenings they put on a two hour talent show....it was VERY entertaining! We had a very relaxing time!

On Friday we sent the kids with Grandpa and Grandma to spend the night at Uncle Bob and Aunt Patty's house. (All of Brett relatives live in the area!) Then we spent the night with Brett's cousins - Josh and Tamra - Brett's brother and their wives joined us too - Troy and Wendi & Chad and Carissa! Sheri, Brett's cousin, joined us too. We ate dinner at Ivar's down on the water in Mukilteo. It was delicious and fun, BUT cold - we sat outside......brrrr.....

On Saturday we spent the whole day at Uncle Rod and Aunt Kathy's. Uncle Rob cut his finger badly as is in the middle to residing the house. All of us ladies weeded the yard.....it was HARD work, but looked so good when we were done. All of the guys worked on the siding and got one side of the house mostly done. I also tried my hand at caulking - not great, but no horrible.....something to work on =)!

On Sunday - The 4th July - brrr...... We watched the parade in Everett, which was a LOT of fun for the kids. Then we drove out to Uncle Bob and Aunt Patty's house to celebrate. It was fun - the boys (big and little) set off fire works! Aunt Kathy prepared a delicious spread and the weather was chilly and drizzly. We tried to sit around the fire....but it wasn't very warm!

On Monday we went to Pike Street Market! The girls were a little tired and whiney, but it was fun. We saw lots of street musicians and browsed the goods. The girls bought beautiful hair ties with their own money and we bought them each a painting of the Space Needle to hang in their bedrooms. After checking into the hotel and taking a little swim we went to a Mariner's Game with Brett's immediate family! This was our Christmas present to his family - as we tried to give gifts of PRESENCE this year =)! It was a fun game - beautiful weather and exciting! Several hits and good field plays. It went into extra innings, but we had to leave because the girls were exhausted!!
On Tuesday we finally drove home......ah to recover from a WONDERFUL vacation!!!!
