Camping in Lincoln City!

We enjoyed a fun filled weekend in Lincoln City at Devil's Lake State Park! We camped with Brett's side of the family. It was a lot of fun! The boys went fishing and took the kids out on boat for a ride. We walked to the beach, where is was mostly foggy, but that didn't stop the kids from playing! I took a nice hilly walk to an amazing park that the kids LOVED playing at. We enjoyed good food, great company and even a few moments of relaxation! We also made a quick stop at the outlet mall before heading home to the valley heat.....good times!

Our Family!

Welcome to our family blog! Brett and I were set up on a date by a mutual friend 12 years ago. We had been dating for six months when Brett proposed to me through a song he wrote. We were married August 21, 1999! We are coming up on our 11 year anniversary and feel blessed to have been together through wonderful and challenging times.

Music plays a huge role in our personal and professional lives. Brett teachers choir at South Albany High School and I teach music at Takena and Central Elementary School, in Albany. We both graduated from Geroge Fox University with our music teaching degrees. We love our jobs and feel that teaching is a ministry. Brett plays the piano and I am experimenting on the conga's for our church worship team, which is a fun outlet for us. Brett also sings tenor with The Corvallis Reperatory Singers during the school year.

We have been blessed with two beautiful daughters. Abigail was born in June of 2003 and Norah was born in May of 2005. Our lives changed a lot when we became parents, and nothing brings us greater joy than our princesses! As the girls get older we are traveling more and feeling more freedom, which is exciting for us all.

Life in the DeYoung house is BUSY and NOISY! We love playing games, camping, laughing and making music together! We have a lovely home in Albany and we feel very settled and content. I hope to keep you updated on our busy lives on this blog. ENJOY!!
